In addition, this course is designed to promote networking and information sharing amongst attendees. The New Jersey Homicide Investigators Association will be hosting a two day training seminar at the Tropicana Casino and Resort located at 2831 Boardwalk in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on October 27-28, 2011. The training will be free for all current NJHIA members and will cost $125.00 for non-members. The training will commence at 8:30 AM and conclude at 4:00 PM. The speakers and topics will include:
Utilizing undercover police officers in cold case homicide investigations. Detective (RET) Mike Sullivan of the Navy Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS)
Behavior Analysis utilized during Homicide Investigations. Special Agent Steve Conlon of the Federal Bureau of Investigation Behavioral Analysis Unit
Investigating human remains and the role of Archeology in forensic death investigations, fatal fire scenes, and mass fatalities. Forensic Anthropologist Doctor Dennis Dirkmaat of the Mercyhurst Archeological Institute
Homicide Investigation Case Study presented by a NJHIA member.

The 19th Annual NJSP/NJHIA Advanced Homicide Investigation Conference will be held again this year at Princeton University from June 25, 2012 through June 29, 2012. This year's conference offers a platform of expert faculty who will discuss current topics and issues related to homicide investigation. In addition, the conference will offer unique opportunities to promote professional enrichment in a social setting. Although no prequisite courses are required, this course is designed for police personnel with investigative experience.
